Learning Mentor
Hi, my name is Karen Furnival. I have worked in Education settings for nearly 30 years, gaining experience in mainstream, SEN, 1:1 positions and teaching & learning. I feel privileged to be involved in our children’s journey, helping to make a difference with those who need extra support helping them succeed back into the classroom. In my spare time I like to open lake swim, enjoy family time and Sunday walks!
Trainee Teacher
Hello, my name is Declan Coxon and I am a Trainee Teacher Cornerstone Academy. This is my first step to working in the education sector after graduating from University. I thoroughly enjoy being able to help and support the students in a classroom environment. I love to stretch and challenge the students through the use of PE, allowing the students to develop their social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills. Outside of work, I try to take part in as much sport as I possibly can, as it has been a love and passion of mine since a very early age. I also enjoy travelling with my partner and seeing the many places our world has to offer, spending time with my family and looking after my young nephew.
